Death in Kashi Becomes a Path to Immortality: Prof. Nagendra Pandey
Varanasi: At a thought-provoking discussion आयोजित under “Chorus-2026” at Mehta Art Gallery in Madauli, noted astrologer Prof. Nagendra Pandey highlighted the spiritual essence of Kashi, stating that even death in this sacred city becomes a pathway to liberation and immortality.

He emphasized that Kashi is a unique spiritual center where the boundary between life and death dissolves, and seekers arrive in pursuit of moksha (salvation). According to him, the city’s deep-rooted spiritual traditions transform death into a transcendental journey rather than an end.

Speakers at the event described Kashi not merely as a geographical entity, but as a living philosophy and a pluralistic cultural hub. Senior journalists and historians elaborated on the city’s spiritual, social, and historical complexities, noting that the concept of moksha is not limited to death but is deeply connected with one’s discipline, conduct, and spiritual practice.
The book “Kashi,” which was the focal point of the discussion, was widely appreciated as a significant effort to explore the city’s profound depth and layered identity.
The session was moderated by Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi, who also delivered the vote of thanks at the end of the program.
