‘5S’ Workplace Management Best Approach for Sustainable and Environment-Friendly Development: BHU Vice-Chancellor
Varanasi: To effectively address future global challenges, India must adopt high-quality workplace management standards across production, services, and management sectors. Young professionals in technical and management fields should be trained in the ‘5S’ methodology, as it serves as an effective pathway to achieving international quality standards, said Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University.
He was addressing the National Convention on ‘5S’ organized by Quality Circle Forum of India at the School of Management Sciences campus in Varanasi. The convention witnessed participation from technical and management professionals representing leading industrial and public sector organizations from across the country.
QCFI National Vice-President Pradeep Srivastava emphasized that adopting technologies that reduce carbon emissions in production processes will be essential for enhancing India’s export competitiveness in the global market. During the event, the chief guest also released a souvenir published by QCFI.
QCFI National President Avinash Mishra highlighted the organization’s initiatives in promoting quality improvement across various sectors. Executive Director D. K. Srivastava shared insights into the achievements and outcomes of the convention.
Prof. P. N. Jha, Director of the School of Management Sciences, presented a comparative analysis of quality management models adopted by Japan and China. Dr. Ashok Rai, President of the QCFI Varanasi Chapter, discussed quality-driven management initiatives in the healthcare sector.
At the concluding session, around 325 delegates from across India pledged to promote quality-oriented workplace management practices to contribute to the vision of a Developed India. Participants showcased their achievements in quality improvement through presentations and working models.
The program was conducted by Vijay Krishna, Director, QCFI, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Arunmoy Chakraborty, Secretary of the QCFI Varanasi Chapter. The convention’s success was made possible through the contributions of A.H. Khan, Ravi Srivastava, V.K.B. Das, Manoj Kumar Reddy, Mrs. Aruna Singh, P.C. Srivastava, and several other office-bearers.
