Wanted Accused Arrested for Attempted Sexual Assault of Minor in Varanasi
Varanasi: Cholapur Police of Varanasi Commissionerate arrested a 20-year-old accused, Suryabali alias Bhushan, in connection with an attempted sexual assault on a 4-year-old girl. The arrest was made on Sunday morning near the Nad river road.
The incident reportedly took place on the night of April 28/29, following which a complaint was lodged by the victim’s mother on April 29. Based on the victim’s statement, medical report, and other evidence, police invoked stringent provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the POCSO Act (Sections 5/6 and 9/10).
Police said the accused has a prior criminal record with multiple cases registered between 2017 and 2025. Further legal proceedings are underway.
