Journalism Summit Honors and Seminar Organized on Hindi Journalism Day

Varanasi, May 30: The Varanasi unit of the Uttar Pradesh Association of Journalists (UPAJ) organized a Journalism Summit Honors Ceremony and Seminar on the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day at Hotel Ravindraraaya, Shivpur, on Friday.
State Minister Hansraj Vishwakarma attended the event as the Chief Guest, while B.S. Subrahmanyam, representative of Kanchi Kamakoti Peeth, was the Guest of Honour. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Bal Lakhendra, Professor in the Department of Journalism at Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
Addressing the gathering, Minister Hansraj Vishwakarma assured journalists that efforts would be made for the construction of a dedicated Journalists’ Building in Varanasi. He also stated that the issues and concerns of journalists would be conveyed to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for appropriate action.
In his speech, Dr. Bal Lakhendra emphasized the need for Hindi journalism to move away from excessive dependence on English terminology and preserve its linguistic identity. Former Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Chet Narayan Singh highlighted the importance of ensuring security measures and adequate healthcare facilities for journalists.
District President Vinod Bagi welcomed the guests and participants. The cultural segment of the event featured captivating performances by renowned tabla maestro Pandit Ashok Pandey and violinist Pandit Sukhdev Mishra, which received wide appreciation from the audience.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Vice President Anil Jaiswal. A large number of journalists and distinguished citizens attended the programme.
