Harish Chandra Postgraduate College Organizes ‘Nari Shakti Padyatra’ Under Awareness Campaign for Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 2023

Varanasi, April 16, 2026: Harish Chandra Postgraduate College, Varanasi organized a “Nari Shakti Padyatra” on April 16, 2026, as part of the awareness campaign related to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 2023. The event was conducted under the guidance of the college principal, Dr. Rajneesh Kuver.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Divyani Baranwal (Program Incharge), Dr. Garima Singh (Co-Incharge), and Dr. Akanksha Singh (Co-Incharge). The padyatra commenced from the college campus and concluded at Chowk.
The chief guest of the event, Dr. Geeta Rani, National Vice President (Matrishakti Prakoshth), Vishva Hindu Mahasangh and Co-Convenor (Shram Prakoshth), Kashi Region, Uttar Pradesh BJP, flagged off the padyatra.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Geeta Rani stated that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (Constitutional Amendment Bill 106) was introduced on September 19, 2023, and was signed by the Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu on September 28, 2023. She added that the implementation process is expected to be completed before 2029. The bill aims to provide 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. She emphasized that this will enhance women’s participation in politics, enable them to contribute to national policy-making, and strengthen the vision of a developed India.
The event was attended by Dr. Sonal Singh, Mrs. Nidhi, Mrs. Purnima Pal, and other faculty members. A large number of students including Shreyanshi, Reena, Anu, Bandana, Bhumi, and several others actively participated in the padyatra.
