Illegal Liquor Factory Busted in Varanasi, Three Arrested
Varanasi: Chola Pur police busted an illegal country liquor manufacturing unit operating at a brick kiln in Dharampur Bela and arrested three accused. The arrested persons were identified as Amavas (25), Rajkumar (30), both residents of Raunakala in Chola Pur, and Sushil Uraon (46) of Lohardaga, Jharkhand.
Police said the accused were allegedly mixing urea and other substances in illicit liquor to increase its potency. During the raid, police recovered 50 litres of urea-mixed liquor, 1,250 litres of fermented wash (lahan), 300 grams of urea and liquor-making equipment. The fermented material was destroyed on the spot.
A case has been registered at Chola Pur police station under the Excise Act and relevant sections of BNS. The raid was led by Inspector Sadhuban Ram Gautam along with SI Chandan Kumar and police team members.
