Somnath Swabhiman Parv Echoes Message of Sanatan Pride in Kashi
Varanasi: “Somnath Swabhiman Parv” was celebrated with grandeur at the sacred Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham on Monday, reflecting the spirit of Sanatan pride and cultural unity. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at the temple and wished for the prosperity and well-being of the state. A symbolic earthen replica of the Somnath Jyotirlinga was also स्थापित and worshipped with traditional rituals and Jalabhishek.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Anandiben Patel said that Somnath and Kashi represent India’s eternal spiritual consciousness and cultural unity. She described the “Somnath Swabhiman Parv” as a symbol of a thousand years of unwavering faith and self-respect that survived repeated invasions and destruction attempts.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Sanatan culture can never be defeated. He remarked that while foreign invaders targeted temples, they failed to break India’s spiritual spirit. The Chief Minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the revival and development of major pilgrimage centres such as Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Somnath, Mahakal Lok, and Ayodhya Dham.
The event also featured cultural performances. Ministers Anil Rajbhar, Ravindra Jaiswal, Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’, Hansraj Vishwakarma, Mayor Ashok Tiwari, along with several public representatives and officials, were present on the occasion.
