Private Land Construction Obstructed: Victim Seeks Justice from Police Commissioner in Gomti Zone
Alleges Harassment and Bullying Over Land Dispute in Rajatalab
Varanasi: A resident of Kanakpur village under Rajatalab police station area has appealed to the Police Commissioner, Babatpur, seeking justice after allegedly facing repeated obstruction and harassment during the construction of his house on private land.
According to the complainant, the disputed land is located at Arazi No. 43, area 3530, Mauja Kanakpur, Tehsil Rajatalab, District Varanasi, where he has been carrying out construction work on his residential house. He alleged that a local resident, Surendra Kumar, has been falsely claiming that the construction is being carried out on drainage land with the intention of stopping the work.
The victim stated that the Rajatalab SDM had earlier conducted a demarcation of the drainage area on-site, which clearly confirmed that the under-construction house does not fall on drainage land. A revenue department team had also reportedly verified the construction and permitted the work to continue. Despite this, the opposing party allegedly continued to interfere in the construction work.
The complainant further alleged that he approached the local police station regarding the matter, but no effective action was taken. He claimed that even after meeting the ACP, the opposing side continued to misbehave and create obstacles. He also alleged that the Rajatalab SHO mentioned there was “pressure from higher authorities” regarding the matter.
Subsequently, the victim submitted a written complaint to the Police Commissioner, Babatpur. As per the written direction issued by the police official, the applicant possesses revenue records, land documents, and other supporting evidence. The order reportedly states that unless the opposing party produces any valid revenue report, court order, or direction from a competent authority, the construction work should not be stopped without reason.
The victim has demanded impartial action from the administration and security to continue construction work on his private land without interference.
