Workers’ Union Protest at BLW, Awareness Drive Held for May 29 Dharna
Varanasi, May 25: Under the nationwide protest fortnight called by the Indian Railway Workers Federation, the DLW Mazdoor Union at Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) organized a protest demonstration on Monday. Employees raised demands including stopping the surrender of posts, ending outsourcing, filling vacant posts, halting privatization, and restoring the Old Pension Scheme.
Led by General Secretary Krishna Mohan Tiwari, employees raised slogans and distributed pamphlets across the factory premises as part of an awareness campaign. Workers were also urged to participate in the one-day dharna proposed at the western gate of the factory on May 29.
A large number of union office-bearers and employees, including Rakesh Pandey and Naveen Sinha, were present during the protest.
