Gaurav-Krishna Dayal and Jhunjhun-Harshit Pairs Register Wins, Ashok Singh Also Triumphs
Varanasi, May 25: Matches in the men’s category were played on the second day of the 5th Late Ramagya Singh Memorial District Carrom League being organized under the aegis of the Varanasi District Carrom Association.
In the doubles category, the pair of Gaurav Gupta and Krishna Dayal Yadav defeated Noorain Khan and Vaibhav Narayan Singh in straight sets by 23-5 and 25-10. Meanwhile, the duo of Jamunadhar alias Jhunjhun Gupta and Harshit Kesari overcame Ashwani Maurya and Priyanshu Yadav by 15-18, 25-4 and 25-8.
In the singles event, Ashok Kumar Singh registered an impressive victory against Nishant Singh by 25-8 and 25-10.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of international referee Ramesh Kumar Verma and organizing secretary Ashwini Chakrawala. On May 26, only women’s doubles matches will be played in the tournament.
