Short News Copy:

India and Oman are set to strengthen their economic partnership through the proposed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), aimed at expanding trade, investment and professional mobility. The agreement will provide duty-free access to over 98% of Oman’s tariff lines for Indian exports, benefiting sectors such as engineering goods, textiles, pharmaceuticals and food processing.

Bilateral trade between the two countries reached USD 11.18 billion in FY 2025-26, while services trade stood at USD 863 million in 2024. The CEPA is expected to create new opportunities for Indian businesses, skilled professionals and investors, while enhancing supply-chain integration across the Gulf, Africa and the Indian Ocean region.

The agreement also includes provisions for services, healthcare cooperation and easier movement of professionals, reinforcing the centuries-old relationship between India and Oman and transforming it into a strategic economic partnership for the 21st century.
