CAG–ICSSR Symposium Discusses Uttar Pradesh’s Fiscal Health and Public Healthcare Governance

Lucknow: A symposium jointly organized by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) was held at Malaviya Hall, Lucknow University, focusing on the themes “State of Finances of Uttar Pradesh” and “Public Health Infrastructure and Management of Healthcare Services.”

The event brought together academicians, researchers, policymakers, and government officials to deliberate on key issues concerning the state’s fiscal position, public expenditure management, healthcare service delivery, and governance challenges.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Accountant General (Audit-II), Uttar Pradesh, Rajeev Kumar Pandey, along with other experts and scholars, highlighted the importance of prudent financial management, effective utilization of public resources, and strengthening healthcare systems to ensure better outcomes for citizens.

The symposium also featured information about the CAG–ICSSR Research Paper Competition, encouraging scholars and researchers to contribute evidence-based studies on governance and public policy issues.

More than 200 teachers, research scholars, and students from various universities and research institutions participated in the programme. Speakers emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in promoting transparency, accountability, and evidence-based policymaking for sustainable development and improved public service delivery.
