Husband and Mother-in-Law Arrested in Dowry Death Case; Kapsethi Police Act Swiftly
Varanasi: Kapsethi police arrested two accused in connection with a dowry death case on Friday morning. The arrested include the deceased Aanchal Yadav’s husband, Achhelal Yadav alias Gorakh (23), and her mother-in-law Munni Devi (59), residents of Bhagautipur village under Kapsethi police station.
The arrests were made near Kuru Tiraha at around 11:30 AM based on a tip-off while the police team was patrolling the area in search of wanted accused as part of a special drive against crime, following the directions of the Varanasi Police Commissioner.
A case has been registered at Kapsethi Police Station under case number 033/2026, sections 85/80(2)/108 BNS and 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
Police stated that the arrests were made in compliance with the guidelines of the Supreme Court and Human Rights Commission, and the relatives of the accused were informed. After interrogation, both accused denied the allegations. They have been sent to court after completing necessary legal formalities.
The arresting team included SHO Sadhuban Ram Gautam, Sub-Inspector Vinay Kumar Prajapati (Dhavkalgaj Outpost In-charge), Head Constable Surendra Yadav, and Woman Constable Shraddha Agrahari.
