Varanasi: In an effort to promote communication skills and confidence among young students, The Learning Lounge Varanasi is set to organize the city’s first inter-school public speaking competition, ‘Speak-A-Thon 2026’, on May 3, 2026.
The event will be held at the K.N. Udupa Auditorium, Banaras Hindu University, and is being seen as a unique initiative in the city aimed at nurturing young talent. The competition is open to students aged between 7 and 16 years.
The initiative has been launched by Priyanka Nawalgaria, a soft skills trainer and founder of The Learning Lounge Varanasi, who has been actively working in the field of communication and personality development for children. Her vision is to provide a platform where students can express themselves confidently and effectively without hesitation.
On the day of the event, all participants will also get the opportunity to attend a special two-hour public speaking workshop designed to enhance their skills.
The competition will offer cash prizes worth up to ₹35,000, along with certificates for all participants.
The event is proudly sponsored by ‘Chinaya Banaras’, supporting the city’s cultural spirit and encouraging young talent.
