2nd BRICS Culture Working Group Meeting Inaugurated in Varanasi

Varanasi, June 4: The 2nd BRICS Culture Working Group Meeting was formally inaugurated in Varanasi with a traditional ceremonial lamp-lighting ceremony. The meeting brought together representatives from BRICS member countries to discuss key priorities identified by India under the Culture Track.

During the deliberations, delegates focused on promoting the creative economy, protection and preservation of cultural heritage, and culture-led sustainable development. These themes are aimed at fostering deeper cultural collaboration and strengthening people-to-people connections among BRICS nations.

Delegations from India, Brazil, China, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and Iran participated in person, while representatives from Russia, Ethiopia, and Egypt joined the meeting in a hybrid format.

The gathering serves as a significant platform for enhancing cultural cooperation, sharing best practices, and advancing collaborative initiatives among BRICS countries. The discussions are expected to contribute to stronger cultural partnerships and greater mutual understanding across member nations.
