AOMSI Masterclass 2026 Inaugurated at BHU, Focus on Advanced Surgical Training

Varanasi, June 4: The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit, Faculty of Dental Sciences, IMS-BHU, inaugurated the AOMSI Masterclass 2026 at the Trauma Centre Auditorium, BHU. The four-day academic programme, being held from June 3 to 6, has brought together around 72 faculty members and 97 final-year MDS students in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from across the country.

BHU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, the chief guest, emphasized the importance of skill-based training, academic collaboration, and a multidisciplinary approach to enhance research and patient care. Distinguished guests included Dr. Gosla Srinivas Reddy, Vice President of AOMSI, Prof. Sanjay Gupta, Officiating Director, IMS-BHU, Prof. H.C. Baranwal, Dean, Faculty of Dental Sciences, and Prof. Saurabh Singh, Professor In-charge, Trauma Centre.

Organising Chairman Dr. Naresh Kumar Sharma welcomed the participants, while speakers lauded the BHU OMFS team for its contributions in maxillofacial trauma management, oral cancer surgery, and reconstructive procedures. The event aims to strengthen clinical and surgical competencies among young surgeons and postgraduate trainees through expert-led academic sessions and hands-on learning.
