Six-Day FDP on Equitable Higher Education Inaugurated

Varanasi: A six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Equitable Higher Education: Integration of Indian Knowledge Tradition and Artificial Intelligence” was inaugurated under the joint aegis of the Inter-University Centre for Teacher Education (IUCTE), Varanasi, and Ramgarh College, Jharkhand.

The programme aims to familiarize educators with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the relevance of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), and the educational applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Welcoming the participants, Principal of Ramgarh College, Dr. Ratna Pandey, emphasized the need to harmonize India’s rich knowledge traditions with modern technological advancements. During the inaugural academic session, Prof. Ashish Srivastava highlighted the contemporary relevance of the Indian Knowledge System, while Dr. Sunil Kumar Tripathi delivered an insightful lecture on the fundamental principles of the Indian Knowledge System and Artificial Intelligence.

More than 200 participants are attending the FDP, with parallel sessions being conducted across various districts of Jharkhand to ensure wider academic engagement and outreach.

The programme seeks to promote inclusive and equitable higher education by integrating traditional Indian wisdom with emerging digital technologies, thereby enhancing the quality and accessibility of teaching and learning.
