Regional Parties Remain Vital to India’s Democratic Diversity: Experts
Varanasi, A thought-provoking discussion on “The Future of Regional Parties” was organized by Banaras Utsav on Saturday at Diamond Hotel, Bhelupur. The seminar brought together eminent speakers, intellectuals, academicians, social workers, and citizens to deliberate on the evolving role, challenges, and prospects of regional political parties in India.
Senior journalist and Consulting Editor of Hindustan Times, Sunita Aron, delivered the keynote address, while Rajya Sabha MP Prof. Manoj Kumar Jha attended as the chief guest and shared his insights on the subject.
The speakers emphasized that regional parties have played a significant role in strengthening India’s democratic diversity by representing local aspirations and regional concerns. They observed that while the changing political landscape has posed new challenges for regional parties, their relevance in the democratic framework remains intact.
Participants from various walks of life also shared their perspectives, leading to a meaningful exchange of ideas on democratic values, public aspirations, and the future trajectory of regional politics in the country.
