Somnath Reflects the Eternal Resolve of Indian Civilization: PM Modi
Varanasi/New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the Somnath Temple as a timeless symbol of India’s Sanatan faith, cultural heritage, and civilizational consciousness. In an article released ahead of the 75th anniversary of the inauguration of the reconstructed Somnath Temple on May 11, he said that despite centuries of invasions and destruction, Somnath continues to stand firm as a testimony to India’s resilience and spiritual strength.
The Prime Minister stated that Somnath is not merely a temple, but a symbol of India’s self-confidence, revival, and unwavering civilizational spirit. Recalling the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rajendra Prasad, and K. M. Munshi in the reconstruction of the temple, he said their efforts reflected the nation’s determination to restore its cultural pride after Independence.
Highlighting the government’s vision of “Development as well as Heritage,” PM Modi said that several spiritual and cultural centers across the country are being developed while preserving India’s rich traditions and legacy.
He also urged citizens to visit the Somnath pilgrimage site and experience the indomitable cultural spirit and spiritual heritage of India.
