Delegates Undertake Industrial Study Visit Under 12th National Conclave on 5-S

Varanasi, June 13: As part of the 12th National Conclave on 5-S, a delegation comprising 20 representatives from 34 chapters across the country undertook a one-day industrial study visit in Varanasi on Saturday. The multidisciplinary team visited two industrial units to gain first-hand insight into the implementation of the 5-S methodology and organizational improvement practices.

The delegation included Amandeep Jain, Balamurugan, Joffy Simon, Aniket, Ritu Mehta, Bharat Landge, Jaishankar Kumar, Kamal Narayan Rai, Manish De, Swagat, Yash Kumar Agrawal, Aniket Bagal, Ravikant Jadhav, Sachin Kangude, Nitin Hemane, Pradeep Gangwar, Prateek Panda, Sandeep Verma, Virendra Meshram, Manjeet Singh Bhandari and Sanjeeb Kumar Porel, among others.

The study visit was coordinated by Anil Kumar Ojha and D.K. Prajapati of the Quality Control Circle (QCC), Varanasi Chapter. The primary objective was to understand the practical application of the 5-S methodology in industrial settings and assess its positive impact on workplace management and productivity.

During the visit, delegates were briefed on the five principles of the 5-S system—Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain. Effective implementation of these principles helps create safer, well-organized, accident-free and environmentally friendly workplaces. It also fosters a better working environment for employees, leading to significant improvements in productivity and operational efficiency.

The representatives observed various improvement initiatives, streamlined work processes and innovative practices adopted by the industrial units. They noted that the learnings and experiences gained during the visit would be highly beneficial and could be replicated in their respective organizations to promote quality enhancement and an excellent work culture.

Describing the visit as informative and inspiring, the delegates emphasized that such programmes serve as an effective platform for sharing best practices among organizations and play a vital role in strengthening a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
