Youth Urged to Connect with Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Vision; Nationalism Discussed at Book Seminar

Varanasi: The Regional Centre of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Varanasi, organized a book discussion and interactive session on the acclaimed book “Samarpan: Deendayal Upadhyaya”, which highlights the inspiring life, nationalist philosophy, and dedicated public service of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The event aimed to familiarize the younger generation with his ideas and encourage meaningful discourse on his contribution to nation-building.

The programme was chaired by Padma Bhushan awardee senior journalist Ram Bahadur Rai, Chairman of the IGNCA Trust. Laxmikant Bajpai attended as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included Ramashish Singh, RSS Pracharak and National Executive Member of Pragya Pravah, and noted Vedic scholar Vidya Prasad Mishra, an expert on the Indian knowledge tradition.

Speakers elaborated on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Integral Humanism, his concept of nationalism, and his vision of ensuring development reaches the last person in society. They emphasized that connecting today’s youth with Indian thought, cultural values, and a national perspective is the need of the hour. The speakers noted that books such as “Samarpan: Deendayal Upadhyaya” play a significant role in introducing young readers to India’s intellectual and cultural heritage.

Author Chandan Kumar shared insights into the research and writing process behind the book and narrated several inspiring episodes from the life of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. He informed the audience that the book has been published in multiple Indian languages and has received wide appreciation for its contribution to nationalist discourse.

Academicians, literary figures, intellectuals, students, and young participants also shared their views during the discussion. Speakers urged the youth to study the ideas of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and actively contribute to the process of nation-building.

The programme was held at the auditorium of the Parsvanath Vidyapeeth campus of the IGNCA Regional Centre, Karaundi, Varanasi, and witnessed the participation of a large number of scholars, intellectuals, and young attendees.
